How do I allow non-administrators to run the K-9 Information Management System?

Allowing noon-administrators to run the K-9 Information Management System requires some knowlege of folder permissions and the use of Windows registry editor.  We will attempt to outline the steps below.

You will need to allow regular users "Modify" permissions on the Televor Software program directory to allow them to write to the tables and configuration files.  The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\Televor Software.  Within Windows Explorer or from within My Computer, browse to the folder you chose during the original installation.

1. Right-click on the "Televor Software" folder
2. Left-click on "Properties"
3. Click the "Security" tab
4. Scroll your list to find the "Users" group, and click on it
5. Check the box to allow "Modify" access to the "Users" group you selected above
6. Click the OK button

These next steps will allow regular users to read and write to the appropriate registry keys required for the proper operation of the K-9 Information Management System. 

1. Click on Start, then Run
2. Type "regedit" in the box, then click the OK button.  This will open the Registry Editor
3. Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
4. Browse to "SOFTWARE"
5. Right-click on "Televor Software"
6. Left-click on "Permissions"
7. Scroll your list to find the "Users" group, and click on it
8. Check the box to allow "Full Control" access to the "Users" group you selected above
9. Click the OK button
