How do I move the software from one computer to another?

NOTE: If you do NOT need to keep your existing data, you can skip the steps for backing up and restoring.

1.  Insert the Televor Software USB memory stick into the old computer, and select "Backup Data".  This will back up all your databases and settings, including the administrator password.

2.  On the old computer, run the software and click on Help - About.  Write down the version number.  Next, uninstall the software from the old computer.  This will release the license on our licensing server and allow you to activate the software on the new computer.

3.  Install the software on the new computer.  Make sure the installed version is the same as the old version.  We make changes to the databases from time to time, and making sure the old computer and new computer having the same version is imperative.

4.  Activate the software on the new computer.  If you do not have the original activation email, please contact technical support to get another email sent to you.

5.  Insert the USB memory stick from Step #1 above, and choose "Restore Data".  It is safe to overwrite the databases on the new computer, as they are empty.

6.  Run the software on the new computer and verify that all your data was restored successfully.  You are now free to continue using the software on the new computer.

1. Backup the existing databases from the old computer to CD-R, USB memory stick, or some other means that will be accessible from the new computer.  The default location of the databases is "C:\Program Files\Televor Software\[your_edition]\Data".  Simply make a copy of the entire "Data" folder.

2.  On the old computer, run the software and click on Help - About.  Write down the version number.  Next, uninstall the software from the old computer.  This will release the license on our licensing server and allow you to activate the software on the new computer.

3. Install the software on the new computer.  Make sure the installed version is the same as the old version.  We make changes to the databases from time to time, and making sure the old computer and new computer having the same version is imperative.

4.  Activate the software on the new computer.  If you do not have the original activation email, please contact technical support to get another email sent to you.

5.  Restore the data to the new computer that you backed up from Step #1 above.  It is safe to overwrite the databases on the new computer, as they are empty.  The default location of the databases is "C:\Program Files\Televor Software\[your_edition]\Data".
